The Daily Star (Bangladesh) reported on 10 October 2026 that at least four dengue patients died and 1,631 others were hospitalised in the 24 hours to 8 a.m. that day.
Main points
- One death each was reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and in the Barishal, Chattogram and Khulna divisions.
- With the latest figures, Bangladesh has recorded 299 deaths and 97,082 cases this year.
- At present 5,776 dengue patients are being treated in hospitals across the country.
VPMA’s note
Bangladesh has a tropical monsoon climate, and its dengue season coincides with the end of the rainy season as in many Vietnamese provinces. Members should keep advising on larval control and water containers and work with local health services when asked to treat outbreak areas.
