An article updated on 18 July 2022 in the Vietnam Journal of Preventive Medicine, with Tran Chi Cuong and Tran Vu Phong among the authors, describes some Association activities in 2020 in Hanoi, Ha Tinh and Son La. Some figures differ from items already posted on vpma.vn.
vpma.vn states that the Ministry of Home Affairs permitted the Association to be established under Decision No. 829/QĐ-BNV of 17 September 2019, with the English name Vietnam Pest Management Association (VPMA). The Vietnam Journal of Preventive Medicine cites the same decision number and date.
The FAOPMA Pest Summit 2024, hosted by the Indian Pest Control Association, was held on 7–10 August 2024 at the Westin Mumbai Powai Lake. VPMA members who registered as a group received a reduced fee.
The Vietnam Pest Management Association and members attended the FAOPMA Pest Summit 2022 at the Kyoto International Conference Center, Japan, on 6–8 November 2022, hosted by the Japan Pest Control Association.
According to FAOPMA’s ExCo Update of 15 May 2026, Vietnam is one of three newly approved national members, with Nepal and APJIPMI (Indonesia).
On 23 July 2026 in Hanoi, Mr Tran Chi Cuong, VPMA Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Hoang Nam Distribution JSC (Kingvina, a member of the Association), met World Poultry magazine about communication on insect-related disease prevention in livestock.
With the agreement of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Health, a congress of more than 60 official delegates elected an Executive Committee of 17 members. Mr Tran Chi Cuong was elected Chairman.
Specialists shared updated information on insecticide products and on how to use them safely. Members joined on site and online.
Looking back on the first years, the Executive Committee congratulated leaders, members and everyone who had contributed to the Association.
VPMA and the Human Resources Professional Association (HRP) held the workshop with speaker Doan Van Anh, and a study visit to IDSV.
From May to August 2021, eight online classes (content following Ministry of Health guidance) were held. About 400 participants received an Association certificate of course completion.
On 17 June 2023 VPMA held a workshop on insecticide sprayers. Specialists shared experience with common and newer equipment. Many member organisations and suppliers took part.
The Association invited delegates and members to the ceremony on 28 December 2022 at 83 Hao Nam, Hanoi.
With Son La CDC, 22 members joined a programme supporting highland children in Suoi Tau village, Phu Yen district.
With the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health, VPMA delivered gifts and 20 million VND to Ha Tinh CDC for post-flood disease control.
The Association mobilised 25 members, 10 cars and 15 sprayers. Members joined Ministry of Health mobile team No. 2 in Quang Binh.
In October 2020 VPMA and the Ong Cham group supported disinfection, mosquito control, and gifts for teachers and pupils in the highlands.
On 28 July 2020 the Association briefed members on dengue and on newer approaches to mosquito control, and members met one another.
With mass organisations, VPMA disinfected five hotspots, with more than 100 member-visits, 30 sprayer-visits and 10 cars.
On a journey the length of Vietnam, VPMA visited the Thong Dong ecological, cultural and spiritual site and donated one container of pest-control product.
The book collects writing on the work of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the home-affairs sector, and organisations and individuals who have contributed.
